Just wanted to let you know our Wellness Committee 2025 has implemented as of 1-1-2025, the following guidelines for the purpose and usage of the funds budgeted for our SCEA members. Please reach out on the committee tab or contact information tab of this website to utilize or propose funding for a member.

Wellness Committee
Committee Members: Jenny Hernandez, Veronica Segura, Oliverto Flores, Gwen Smith and Liszet Burgueno
The Wellness Committee guidelines:
- SCEA will not donate to former SCEA members
- SCEA will not donate to current members experiencing financial hardships***
- Death of an SCEA member **-
- Flowers (up to $150), a card and a monetary donation of $600 to assist with funeral or other needs of the members’ next of kin.
- Death of SCEA immediate**** family member**:
- Flowers (up to $90), a card and a monetary donation of $300 to assist with funeral or other needs of the member.
- ****Immediate Family consists of, spouse,mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister and child. Stepfamily members are included in the immediate family. In-laws will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
- No aunt, uncle, cousin, girlfriend, boyfriend, partners, fiancée etc. are not considered in immediate family terms for this benefit.
- The wellness committee reserves the right to request proof of death such as an obituary, articles, etc. showing the relationship with the deceased family member to prevent abuse of this benefit.
- Death in the Line of Duty (Police/Fire, or others)– Flowers (up to $150) (no monetary donation)
Community Events
The Wellness Committee agreed that SCEA can give back to the community by donating to four events a year.
** member must be in good standing (active paying) to qualify for assistance.
***may be covered for extenuating circumstances as approved by the Wellness committee.
